Alice Nicholas Wood combines a background in classical orchestral music with a love of sound manipulation. She studied music composition and theory at UNC School of the Arts and University of Southern California under musical greats Morten Lauridsen, Frank Ticheli and recent Grammy winner Stephen Hartke, and graduated USC's prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program where she was awarded the BMI Award for Music Composition.

She came up in the industry assisting composers Rolfe Kent, Jon Brion and Alex Wurman on films including Mr. Popper's Penguins, Up in the Air, Wedding Crashers and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. She honed her craft assisting orchestrators Tony Blondal, Stephen Coleman and Tim Williams on films including The Day the Earth Stood Still and Pacific Rim, as well as developing her music engineering prowess under music mixer Greg Townley on nearly every action film trailer of the past decade.

Her original scores now include narrative features, docs, TV pilots and commercials for Cisco, Viking Range, GE, and Cherokee.

Alice has a particular strength for nailing the tone of a project, a skill she developed as a music editor creating temp scores for countless films and television shows, including Jumanji 2, The Hustle, Ferdinand, Code Black, American Odyssey and Darfur Now.

She brings a unique viewpoint and skill for collaboration to the table, having intimate knowledge of so many facets of film music creation.

In addition to scoring for media, she has also served as composer-in-residence for classical music festivals including Pikes Falls Music Festival and played keyboards/vocals with bands around Los Angeles.
